My kids call these guys the "crazy stick insects" They run around everywhere, over each other, up and down, sometimes in a frenzied way.
A light green in colour when young, they have a strip down their back very similar to the vein on a leaf. Very well camouflaged.
But when you blow on them, they run anyway they can, it doesn't matter where. Even when cleaning the cage you have to have your witts about you because they will grab anything and climb anywhere before you know it. I feed them eucalyptus and bottle brush. They go OK on Bottle brush. When they eat, they really chomp in and are not worried about being seen as they move and shake the leaf like they have never eaten before. Dislike being misted with water and dont readily drink from the leaves. The adult male changes from the light green colour to a light brown colour with very long legs.

we had our first egg hatch today. (see photo thread) I didnt do anything over the top to hatch them, just kept them in a container with air holes in it (to help stop mould) and put them in a warmish spot. Although, it did have a problem with getting its last two legs free from the egg caste. I gently removed it . I dont know if it would of removed it by itself or maybe it was me being impatient, but it did seem to be having trouble.

another hatched today. I gave them a gentle mist of water last night and this one came out freely, leaving the egg caste behind

after 4 hatchings, 3 died. Through not eating. I tried small , new young gums leaves that i have been already feeding the adults. Even broke the edges around the older leaves and given them a slight mist with water.
Also rose bushes, with no luck
The only one nymph that has eaten, was the largest when it first hatched and i can see good feeding bites along the leaves.

since i have been giving the eggs a light mist every morning, the nymphs have been hatching well and strongly. Maybe the lack of moisture was the cause of smaller nymphs being produced
